Child themes are a safe way to modify a WordPress theme without actually making any changes to the parent theme&#8217;s files. If you are willing to go further with your theme customizations and include your own CSS, JavaScript, HTML and PHP code, the right way to do it, would be using a child theme. <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.wordpress.org\/themes\/advanced-topics\/child-themes\/\">Here<\/a> you can learn more.<\/p>\n<p>We strongly recommend you to use one, otherwise you would lose your changes after a new theme update.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"download-the-child-theme\">Download the child theme<\/h3>\n<p>You will find the child theme in the download bundle. Navigate to <strong>Envato <i class=\"material-icon-arrow_right_alt __arrow\"><\/i> Downloads <i class=\"material-icon-arrow_right_alt __arrow\"><\/i> Brikk <i class=\"material-icon-arrow_right_alt __arrow\"><\/i> All files &amp; documentation<\/strong>. Unpack the ZIP file and extract only the file called <strong>Brikk-child.zip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"install-the-child-theme\">Install the child theme<\/h3>\n<p>WordPress considers a child theme as a separate theme. So installing the child theme works like installing the parent theme. Navigate to\u00c2\u00a0<strong>Appearance <i class=\"material-icon-arrow_right_alt __arrow\"><\/i> Add new Theme <i class=\"material-icon-arrow_right_alt __arrow\"><\/i> Upload<\/strong>, then browse the zip file previously download and extracted from Envato.
